Relationships Are Hard...But Worth It!

Relationships Are Hard...But Worth It! ・

Trust me, I know!

HELPING COUPLES IS MY PASSION.

I have been married 24 years so we've had our fair share of ups and downs. I have also been a couples therapist for over 24 years and helping them is my passion. I firmly believe that most people all want the same thing - to be loved & understood - to be respected &  heard - and to feel that close bond that leads to all kinds of intimacy. The problem is, no one really shows you what to do when you feel lost, alone, upset, unheard, or disrespected.  It's hard to know how to find your way back to each other.  I want to help you bridge the distance you feel with each other or strengthen an already strong bond.

I’m Shelly

I can't wait to get to know you.

Welcome! My life circumstances facilitated my desire to become a marriage therapist in early adolescence. I graduated from The University of Iowa with Honors in Psychology and completed my graduate degree from Northern Illinois University.

My passion has always been working with couples and that passion remains today. I have been in practice for over 24 years, specializing in helping couples who are burdened by wanting to make their relationship work, but are uncertain of the tools and where to start.  I am a certified Gottman therapist and presenter as well as utilizing EFT (emotionally focused couples therapy) as part of the therapeutic process. My approach can be described as warm and relatable, yet direct and effective. I honor the opportunity to work with you.
